Beaches Backpackers
Right in the centre of town has many dorm beds and is connected to one of the liveliest bars in town. A normal dorm sleeps eight, it has en-suite facilities and its own TV and fridge in each dorm room. These are fairly clean, depending on your co-habitants. It offers a small swimming pool. It's central location is great for access to the Airlie Beach lagoon, very popular with backpackers.

Magnum's Hostel
Magnums is located in the heart of Airlie Beach. The hostel is set back in a lush tropical rainforest setting. So you can relax on the deck or party on at Magnums famous party board walk and bars. For the young and the young at heart. In the middle of town so can occasionally be a bit noisy for the light sleeper.

Backpackers by the Bay
A good choice for something smaller, and is the 2004 Whitsunday Tourism award winner. There is a good kitchen for cooking, a small pool, bar, tables and sofas on a relaxed terrace over looking Pioneer Bay. The location is not in the heart of the main street, but a five minute walk along the main road and up some steps (although the actual address is 12 Hermitage Drive). Great views!!

Bush Village
The Lonely Planet rated Bush Village as "Top Notch Accommodation". Bush Village is a boutique backpackers and highly recommended by Islandive passengers.
The property caters for up to 68 guests comprising of 18 double, twin or 4-6 share fully self-contained cabins. A large range of styles to suit all budgets. Swimming pool and free town bus.

Airlie Waterfront Backpackers
100m from the main street (Shute Harbour Road) on the Esplanade you will be close to all the action but can still chose when to leave the noise and crowds behind and grab some rest. Its also only 150m from the bus stop, walk along the beach if you fancy! Ask about upgrading to a private room.

YHA Airlie Beach
Airlie Beach YHA backpackers hostel is located at the southern end of the main street (Shute Harbour Rd) in Airlie Beach. Offering some quiet space, but close enough to walk 5 minutes to the action in the heart of town. The swimming lagoon, restaurants, cafes, shops and nightlife all within walking distance. The hostel offers multi-share, double and twin rooms with private balconies. All hostel rooms are air-conditioned and the twin and double rooms have shared bathroom facilities with only one other room. Backpackers facilities include
swimming pool, tour desk, kitchen, laundry, dining and TV room.
