The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park is renowned worldwide for diving. To have the opportunity to dive is one that should not be missed.

Try challenging swim thrus or marvel at the huge overhangs and vertical coral walls. Our dive sites vary from sandy beach entries to giant stride entries off the boat straight onto sheltered coral reefs.

Islandive instructors can show you massive coral structures and stunning coral bommeys, be amazed by the bright and vivid colours. It's an underwater kaeidoscope down there with colourful tropical fish weaving through vibrant corals. Swim with Turtles, manta rays and gropers glide by to say G'Day and some of the most fascinating seascape views you'll ever see.

Diving and snorkeling in our local area of the Great Barrier reef marine park is rated among the best in the world. There are over 100 chartered dive sites, many with National Park mooring buoys. Visibility is mostly good to excellent.

Underwater Photography

A unique feature aboard Islandive vessels is our hi tech underwater digital camera and housing. Our trained Dive Instructors will take fantastic pictures of your days underwater dive adventures.. The Great Barrier Reef pictures are a fanastic way to shoew family and friends your underwater Whitsunday Experience. For keen photographers the staff can also teach you some of their knowledge if your interested? At the end of your adventure, DVD's are available for purchase (or free with 4 dive package)

Certified night diving

The first time you descend into the darkness you'll realize that it's almost a completely different world at night... Night diving takes place after sunset and is the most fantastic experience... Divers can spot the many nocturnal creatures that are not visible during the day as come out of their hiding places. The colors of the reef are much more intense under your flashlight.

Certified divers pleaseprovide current dive certification, or ask us at the officefor a dive certification check... All we require is full name, middle initial and date of birth.

You may require a medical certificate from a medical practioner, if:

• If you wish to go scuba diving and have current or previous health conditions... Including: Asthma, Epilepsy, Diabetes, Heart conditions,Thyroid conditions etc...
• If you wish to go scuba diving and are currently taking any form of medication (not including the contraceptive pill).

If you wish to dive and are worried about any existing or previous medical condition, please allow time to get a dive medical from an Australian medical practice before your trip... You can do this here at Airlie Beach for around $60. The medical practices below on most occasions will be able to a dive medical with minimum notice. To contact Australian Doctors in Airlie Beach:

Diving can be decided onboard at each dive site. You can dive as you please or choose a package. For the serious diver we offer up to 6 dives. All training, equiptment and Instructor guiding you around the sites is included in the dive prices.

Prices for dives are as follows:

1 dive: - $ 60 2 dives: - discounted $10 per dive - $110

3 dives: - discounted $10 per dive / plus a free dive Tshirt (value $30) $150

4 dives: - discounted $10 per dive / plus a free t shirt (value $30) / plus a DVD of all your underwater dives and trip (value $30) $200

Every dive after the fourth dive is only $50

Night dives - $75.
