Our dive sites vary from sandy beach entries to entries off the boat straight onto sheltered coral reefs. Islandive instructors can show you massive coral structures and stunning coral bommeys. Swim with turtles, huge gropers and play with schools of tropical fish, be amazed by the bright and vivid colours. Diving and snorkeling in our local area of the Great Barrier reef marine park is rated among the best in the world. There are over 100 chartered dive sites , many with National Park mooring buoys. Visibility is mostly good to excellent. Combine a great sailing adventure with snorkeling and diving in one of the worlds most spectacular cruising grounds.
The Great Barrier Reef is renowned worldwide for diving. To have the opportunity to dive is one that should not be missed.
The Whitsundays are the perfect place to try a first time dive. Shallow beach entries on the first day make learning to scuba dive easy and safe. Our experienced and proffessional Instructors will introduce you to the wonderful world of scuba diving. Wade in with the patient instructors until you feel comfortable in your new equiptment.
Your scuba dive commences with a SCUBA diving and equipment briefing –diving instructors will give you personalised tuition, ensuring you're confident with the basic skills and commands. If you would like to experience the thrill of scuba diving, our instructors will be happy to introduce you to the amazing underwater world and it's colourful inhabitants, try it and if you dont like it you can snorkel from the beach...
You can even join us on a guided scuba dive for what we call the Nemo trail. At certain dive sites their are up to 5 seperate Anemone corals that support their own family of clownfish. A truly exciting dive that lets you get up close and personal with these stunning and playful fish.
For the novice diver we happy to supply dive guides at no added cost, these highly trained instructors can also point out the features and highlights to be found at each new dive site. In the Whitsundays Islands, where year-round the water temperature stays close to 25 C Dive depths vary from only 5m to 10m if you want too for first time divers.
- If you wish to go scuba diving and have current or previous health conditions... Including: Asthma, Epilepsy, Diabetes, Heart conditions,Thyroid conditions etc...
- If you wish to go scuba diving and are currently taking any form of medication (not including the contraceptive pill).
If you wish to dive and are worried about any existing or previous medical condition, please allow time to get a dive medical from an Australian medical practice before your trip... Diving can be decided onboard at each dive site. You can dive as you please or choose a package. For the serious diver we offer up to 6 dives. All training, equiptment and Instructor guiding you around the sites is included in the dive prices.
1 dive: - $ 60 2 dives: - discounted $10 per dive - $110
3 dives: - discounted $10 per dive / plus a free dive Tshirt (value $30) $150
4 dives: - discounted $10 per dive / plus a free t shirt (value $30) / plus a DVD of all your underwater dives and trip (value $30) $200
Every dive after the fourth dive is only $50
Night dives - $75.
