Kayaking One of the unique features of Summertime and also on Whitsunday Blue and Whitsunday Sunset tours!
You have enjoyed exhilarating sailing, delicious food, perhaps some snorkeling and diving, now its time to really get back in touch with nature.
After a thorough safety brief and area orientation, your guide assists you and your buddy into the comfortable and stable 2 person kayak, (which have been specifically chosen to cater for all levels of kayaking expertise). Now it’s time to take a look around at your spectacular surroundings. Welcome to Cid Harbour. Whilst exploring the calm waters of Dugong Inlet, paddling at a leisurely island pace, pause every once and while to admire the spectacular scenery as it unfolds before you.
Lush rainforest hundreds of years old, water falls cascading out of rock faces, secluded coves that tempt, sea eagles plunging towards the sea after their next fresh fish dinner, turtles taking a rest and quick breath on the surface. Meander over extensive seagrass beds which are an important feeding ground for the dugong. A mammal species internationally listed as endangered, and the name sake of this picturesque inlet. The dugong is also famous as the inspiration for myths about mermaids! Nature always surprises, so be on the look out for something new and exciting.
Be curious, your guides take pride in their knowledge of the area and love nothing more than sharing it with interested nature lovers. Enjoy the rhythmic sound of paddles slicing through the water as you slowly make your way back to Summertime.
Even the more experienced adventure seeker will be awed by this aspect of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. This rewarding outdoor experience guarantees to expand your awareness and understanding of beautiful Whitsunday Islands.
Summertime will guarantee a Kayak Experience.
On board Whitsunday Blue and Whitsunday Sunset the kayak tour is not guaranteed but we do kayak on most trips. You can always enquire ahead and request that the kayaing option is of importance to you. |
